About Me
I’ve been involved with Internet Advertising as early as 1995. I started the “Adgineering” (short for Advertising Engineering) team at Infoseek during the early phases of banner advertising. Later, I became employee #1 at Cadabra, a comparison shopping portal that was later acquired by GoTo (a.k.a. Overture Services), pioneer of Pay Per Click advertising.
My current project is 21Gingerman, a collection of casual online games for online/social networks and mobile networks. Follow my adventure on my other blog.
For those not familiar with the term CPM, it stands for Cost Per Thousands (“M” as in the Roman numeral “M” for thousand, is what I’m told). It is a pricing method common amongst media buyers. It can be applied towards buying/pricing print ads, TV ads, radio ads, etc. based on how much exposure of the ad has on the targetted audience. In the beginning of Internet Advertising more than 10 years ago, a bunch of advertising veterans brought the term over the chasm into the Internet and history was made.
